Int. Art Channel premiere Dec 15 2022 Hall 1 Cinecitta

Jan Doms took the initiative to set up the Internationals Art Channel in collaboration with the filmmaker Tom Pijnenburg. Everyone is welcome to the premiere evening December 15, start 7:30 pm, of the first series of three artist film portraits in the main hall (1) of Cinecitta in Tilburg.

Jan Zobel introduces the new Internationals Art Channel and the three short films about the artists Strijbos & Van Rijswijk, Chikako Watanabe and Marjolein Landman.

portrait 01 Strijbos & Van Rijswijk - composers

 

Jeroen Strijbos and Rob van Rijswijk have been forming the composer and sound artist duo for more than ten years: Strijbos & Van Rijswijk. They have created an oeuvre in many places worldwide that includes landscape operas, so-called 'walkscapes' and live music performances in a more classical setting.

 

portrait 02 Chikako Watanabe - multi media artist

 

From the North Pole to the South Pole, Chikako Watanabe goes in search of local communities and their environment. She registers and translates past and present. Watanabe shows her findings worldwide with her 'ceremonial Chikahome' and her imaginative spatial installations with videos, sculptures, drawings and textile and ceramic works.

Wandering through urban landscapes, from New York to Tokyo, from Hong Kong to Tilburg, Marjolein Landman searches for the beauty of decay and destruction. Bright colours, the sparkles that reflect or the darkness of oil and tar residues. In addition, she is fascinated by the dynamic spaces between the buildings that rise, where human life manifests itself in many ways.
